A LITTLE OUT OF CONTROL
Fur is meant to move freely. Here, it’s held under black netting, with only a few places to escape.
Some tufts push out in large, soft shapes. Others form small, uneven circles. Beneath it all sits a neat, jacket and a 1950s-style pencil skirt.
A little wild, but carefully cut.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
The fur is cut at two and a half times the width, then gathered beneath a layer of black netting.
Small openings are cut into the net, allowing the fur to be pulled through by hand. Each opening is different, creating an uneven surface that is soft, playful and hard to control.
The challenge is turning these loose fabrics into a sharply shaped jacket and fitted skirt.
LOOK 2
THE SHEER VERSION
The same jacket is paired with a short skirt beneath sheer black netting.
The waist and legs show through the fabric, revealing a lighter version of the original look.
AVAILABLE TO COMMISSION
Madam Monsterfly Design 3 is available in two versions: the full pencil skirt or the shorter skirt with a sheer net overlay. Both can be made to your measurements, keeping the original design and its unusual details.
