MEET NIKKI
Nikki Huang is the founder and designer of Nikki SUU.
She was born in Taiwan, lived and studied in Japan, and later trained in fashion in London. These places shaped the way she sees clothes. She loves clean lines, strong shapes, soft draping and careful details.
Nikki does not design clothes to hide a woman’s body. She designs clothes to help a woman feel seen. Every Nikki SUU piece starts with an idea. It may come from a woman, a place, a memory, a painting or a piece of history. Then Nikki turns that idea into shape, fabric and form.
MADE BY HAND, BUILT ON THE BODY
Nikki trained in fashion design, pattern cutting and costume design. She also completed a Master’s degree at London College of Fashion.
Her design process often begins on a mannequin. She drapes fabric, changes the shape, moves the lines and studies how the garment sits on the body. Some shapes are soft and flowing. Others are sharp and strong.
She looks at the shoulder, waist, neckline and length until every part feels right. For Nikki, a dress should not only look good in a photo. It should also feel special when a woman puts it on.
CLOTHES WITH A REASON
Every Nikki SUU piece begins with a reason. It may begin with a woman, a memory, a question or a story.
We do not make large amounts of clothing simply to fill shelves. Our pieces are made in small numbers in London. Many are made only when an order is placed. We make what is needed, with time and care.
